Multiple-file upload on behalf of a student
The multiple file upload submission option allows you to upload multiple files simultaneously.

Each file must be less than 100 MB.
If your file contains images, you may remove the images or save the file as a rich text or plain text file to make the file smaller. If your file is a PDF and exceeds the 100 MB restriction: (1) copy the text in the document, (2) change the upload process to 'copy and paste', and (3) paste the text in the body field.
- The maximum paper length for each file is 800 pages
- All file types are allowed and can receive marks in Online Grading and PeerMark. However, Turnitin will only generate Similarity Reports for the following file types: Microsoft Word; PowerPoint; WordPerfect; PostScript; PDF; HTML; RTF; OpenOffice (ODT); Hangul (HWP); Google Docs; Slides; and Sheets (submitted via the Google Drive submission option); and plain text files with at least 20 words of text will be eligible to receive Similarity Reports.

- Once your first file has been successfully uploaded, the file will appear within the File Submission Preview list. To submit on behalf of a non-enrolled student, ensure that "non-enrolled student" is selected from the Student dropdown list, and enter their last and first name in the respective text boxes. If you submit on behalf of an non-enrolled student they will be unable to view the submission, even after you have added them to the class.
Repeat steps 3 - 6 for each paper being submitted as part of the upload

- Click Upload All to upload the files

- Click the Submit button to submit all uploaded files to Turnitin, or click Go back to make changes to the multiple file upload.

What are the file type/size requirements for Turnitin assignments?
For a successful Turnitin submission, please ensure you read the file type / size requirements below:
- Although the limit for Turnitin assignments is 100MB, we recommend keeping your file under 50MB to ensure the submission is successful.
- The larger the file, the longer it will take to submit (upload), so please leave enough time prior to the deadline. Please do not leave a large file submission to the last minute as this may mean showing as a late submission as the time is only recorded once successfully submitted and you receive a receipt.
- Multiple files are not accepted: Only one document can be submitted.
- Submitted documents cannot exceed 100MB, if it does you will receive an error message stating that your file size 'exceeds the configured maximum'
- Submitting in MS Word and want to reduce file size? see our FAQ: How do I compress images in my MS Word document?
- Submission must contain at least 20 words and must be less than 800 pages in length.
If there are issues, please get in touch with your tutor or get support from the Library & Student IT Advice team.
